Cherry Cordial Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

  • 1/2 c butter or margarine, softened.
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1 egg separated
  • 2 T milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c cocoa
  • 1/4 t salt
  • Vanilla filling (recipe follows)
  • 26 Hershey's Kisses Brand Milk Chocolate filled with Cherry Cordial Creme.
  1. Beat butter, sugar, egg yolk, milk, and vanilla in medium bowl until fluffy.
  2. Stir together flour, cocoa, and salt.
  3. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended.
  4. Refrigerate dough at least 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.
  5. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheet or use parched paper on cookie sheet.
  6. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
  7. Press thumb gently in the center of each cookie.
  8. Bake 10-12 minutes or until set.
  9. Meanwhile make Vanilla Filling (see below) and remove wrappers from chocolate pieces.
  10. Remove cookies from cookie sheet to wire rack; cool 5 minutes.
  11. Spoon about 1/4 t of filling into each thumbprint
  12. Gently press kiss in the center of each cookie.
Vanilla Filling

  • 1/2 c powdered sugar.
  • 1 T softened butter or margarine
  • 2 T milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  1. Mix all ingredients in small bowl.
  2. Beat until smooth
