Taco Bake

  • 2 pkg. (7-1/4 oz.) Creamy Macaroni and Cheese either elbow or shell.
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 pkg. Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 4 cups of shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • Thick 'N Chunky Mild Salsa (Optional)
  • Crumbled tortilla chips
  1. Preheat oven 400 degrees.
  2. Brown hamburger then drain grease.
  3. Add taco seasoning follow directions on the package.
  4. While the taco meat is simmering start the macaroni and cheese according to the directions on the box.
  5. While stirring in the creamy cheese also add the sour cream.
  6. Stir in half of the macaroni and cheese mixture in a 9 x 13 baking dish sprayed with a non stick cooking spray.
  7. Top with half of the taco meat.
  8. Sprinkle half of the cheese onto the meat.
  9. Then repeat the above layers with the other half. (except keep 1 cup of shredded cheese)
  10. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes
  11. After 15 minutes remove from the stove and add salsa if desired, remainder of the shredded cheese and top with the crushed tortilla chips.
  12. Place in the oven for 5 minutes uncovered.
