Ingredients
- 2 pkg. (7-1/4 oz.) Creamy Macaroni and Cheese either elbow or shell.
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 pkg. Taco Seasoning Mix
- 4 cups of shredded mild cheddar cheese
- 16 oz sour cream
- Thick 'N Chunky Mild Salsa (Optional)
- Crumbled tortilla chips
- Preheat oven 400 degrees.
- Brown hamburger then drain grease.
- Add taco seasoning follow directions on the package.
- While the taco meat is simmering start the macaroni and cheese according to the directions on the box.
- While stirring in the creamy cheese also add the sour cream.
- Stir in half of the macaroni and cheese mixture in a 9 x 13 baking dish sprayed with a non stick cooking spray.
- Top with half of the taco meat.
- Sprinkle half of the cheese onto the meat.
- Then repeat the above layers with the other half. (except keep 1 cup of shredded cheese)
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes
- After 15 minutes remove from the stove and add salsa if desired, remainder of the shredded cheese and top with the crushed tortilla chips.
- Place in the oven for 5 minutes uncovered.
